The FSU Forensics Team teaches and encourages the application of good communication skills to argumentation, oratory and the interpretation of literature from an academically grounded approach.

Our Goals:

1. Provide all participating students a positive educational environment.
2. Provide all competitors with increased skills, knowledge and abilities in speech and debate activities.
3. Provide FSU with a competitive speech and debate program that represents the University with a high level of professionalism and competitiveness at regional and national forensics competitions.

FSU Forensics is a university-sponsored intercollegiate competitive program that is open to students from all majors across the academic landscape at Florida State University.  We strongly believe that students can enhance their communication skills, career prospects and academic performance by preparing for, and participating in, forensics competitions.

We maintain an open door policy.  This means we will teach any willing student how to prepare for competition.  Once a student’s events are developed enough to be competitive in an intercollegiate environment, the student has the option of being added to the travel squad for tournaments, space permitting.
